I was given this broken Stereozoom microscope head for free in August, 2022. I had been looking for one of these to aid with surface mount soldering. Unfortunately, the microscope head did not come with its stand or focus mount, but the biggest issue was that when looking through the two objective lenses, one side was completely dark. I took the microscope head apart and found that two mirrors were out of alignment, and after some fiddling to get them back into place, the head was fully functional. I then bought a used boom arm and focus mount off of Ebay and fabricated a light for the microscope out of an old LED flashlight and a wall wart.
