Do You Have a Broken Antique Radio?

If you want to make your old radio sing again, you've come to the right place! I am located in the Pacific, Missouri area and would love to repair antique tube radios from the 30s-60s for local folks. Radios of this vintage are filled with old, decaying parts that must be checked and replaced in order for the radio to function safely and meet factory specs. (Scroll down to learn more about this) Often times the vacuum tubes in a set are just fine, but other parts must be replaced. A full service includes testing tubes, replacing faulty components, fixing mechanical problems, and a light cleaning of the radio's chassis. We can always discuss options for more extensive restoration work as I inspect the radio and provide an estimate.

I charge $30 to do an estimate where I will determine what work your radio needs. After that, the bench rate is $40/hour plus parts. Click here to send me an email for more information.

What's Wrong With My Radio?

Antique tube radios contain parts that fail with age. After 70 years of being in a radio, parts such as capacitors, resistors, selenium rectifiers, and even wiring can start to fail. While a radio with original parts may work for a short while, those parts will put undue stress on the other components in the radio. The first two pictures below show some of the faulty components typically found in a radio, and the last picture shows some other failed parts. Interested in seeing a restored radio?
